What this site knows about you
Short, specific, and written to be read rather than to be clicked past. If a sentence here is not true of the site, it is a bug and I want to know.

Who is responsible for your data
This site is run by Nnamdi Awurumibe, trading as The Lagos Website Designer, from Plot 2 Road 10, Goodnews Estate, Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lagos, 101245, Nigeria.
For anything to do with your data, including asking to see it or to have it deleted, call +2348165907113 or write to nnamdi@thelagoswebsitedesigner.com. There is no department and no ticket queue. It reaches me.
What this notice covers
This website, and nothing else. The sites I have built for clients are run by those clients on their own domains, and each one carries its own notice. Nothing you do here is visible to them, and nothing you do there is visible to me.
When you send an enquiry
The form asks for four things: your name, your business name, a phone number I can reach you on, and an email address. It also takes what you need in your own words. If you opened it from the pricing page it carries the service or package you clicked, and the monthly figure you entered where the service is one that is priced monthly.
Two things are recorded alongside it that you do not type: the time the enquiry arrived, and the internet address it came from.
All of it exists for one purpose, which is to read your enquiry, answer it, and quote for the work. It is not sold, not shared with an advertiser, and not added to a mailing list, because there is no mailing list.
The lawful basis is your own request. Asking for a quote is the step before a contract, and those four fields are the minimum it takes to come back to you. Keeping the internet address rests on a legitimate interest instead: the form is open to the whole internet, and that address is what lets it turn away a flood of automated submissions.
Giving any of it is your choice. If you would rather not type your business into a stranger's form, call or email instead and skip it. The same person answers.
Where it goes
Your enquiry is stored securely, and a copy is sent to my own inbox, so that a failure on either side cannot lose it. Your email address is set as the reply address on that copy, which is how an answer gets back to you.
How long it is kept
An enquiry is kept while there is a reason to keep it: a conversation still going, a quote still standing, a project under way, or the records a finished project has to leave behind. One that comes to nothing is of no use to me. You can ask for yours to be deleted at any point, and it will be.
What this site measures
Like most websites, this one measures how it is being used: which pages get read, how long for, what brought somebody to them, roughly which part of the world they are in, and what kind of device and browser they used. It is counted in aggregate, and none of it is used to work out who you are.
When you send an enquiry, one thing is recorded saying that an enquiry happened and which part of the site it came from. Your name, your number, your email address and what you wrote are not part of that and never leave the enquiry itself. The point of it is to know which pages bring in work, which is the only way to tell a page that is earning its place from one that is only being scrolled past.
The basis for measuring at all is a legitimate interest in knowing which parts of the site are worth keeping. You will not find a consent banner here: on a phone, on mobile data, a dialog to dismiss before you can read is a cost paid by every single visitor. What you get instead is a working way out. Your browser's own privacy settings, or any content blocker, will stop the measurement loading. Nothing on this site is withheld from a visitor who blocks it, and the form still works.
What is stored in your browser
Very little, and none of it is your name or your details. The site remembers which theme you chose, light or dark, so the page does not change under you on your next visit. If you switch the site into another language, it remembers that too. Both stay on your device and are never sent to me.
The measurement described above adds a small identifier of its own, so that a returning visit can be told apart from a new one. You can clear it whenever you like through your browser, along with everything else here.
The fonts and the images are served from this site rather than from somewhere else, so simply loading a page does not announce your visit any more widely than the above.
Who else handles it
Running a website means other companies are involved in running it. For this site that means a hosting provider, a service that delivers the enquiry email, and the provider of the measurement described above. Each of them acts on my instructions, is given only what its part of the job needs, and is bound by its own data protection terms.
Some of them hold data outside Nigeria. Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 that is a transfer, and the basis relied on is that it is necessary to provide the thing you came for: a site that loads, and an enquiry that arrives. this
No automated decisions
Nothing here profiles you, scores you, or decides anything about you without a person involved. Quotes are written by hand, which is also why they take until the end of the working day rather than arriving instantly.
Children
This site sells websites to businesses. It is not aimed at anyone under 18 and does not knowingly collect anything from them.
