The Lagos Website Designer

Looking for a website designer near you in Lagos?

Based in Lagos, working with businesses across the mainland and the island.

If you are searching for a website designer near you, the thing worth checking is who actually builds the site. A lot of local listings are resellers who pass the job on.

I work directly with a small number of clients at a time. You can reach me on WhatsApp during working hours and get an answer from the person building your site.

Happy to meet in person where it helps, or run the whole project remotely.

What a near me search actually returns

Typing a service and letting the phone supply the place is now the ordinary way to look for anything local. It is worth knowing what decides the answer, because almost none of it is about who is nearest.

Where you are
Proximity is a factor and it is not the only one. A better matched business slightly further away routinely outranks a closer one that has done nothing.
The Business Profile
Completeness, category, hours and photographs. An unclaimed or half filled profile is the single most common reason a real business is invisible to this search.
Reviews
Recent ones, answered. A steady few with replies carries further than a pile collected once and abandoned.
Consistency
The same name, address and phone number everywhere the business appears. Three versions of a phone number across three directories is a quiet and common problem.
The website behind it
The listing and the site are judged together. A profile pointing at a slow or broken page is a weaker result than one pointing at a fast page that answers the query.
Who is paying
The first results are often ads. Worth knowing which part of the page you are looking at before you draw conclusions about who ranks.

How to tell who is actually building your site

A great many local listings are resellers who take the brief and pass the job on. None of these checks are rude to make, and the answers take a minute.

  • Ask who writes the code, by name
  • Ask to see a site they built that is live right now
  • Open that site on your own phone, on mobile data
  • Check whether it loads before you lose interest
  • Look for a real address, a real phone number and a real person
  • Ask what happens if you need a change six months from now
  • Ask whether the price is published or produced after a call
  • Notice whether you are speaking to the builder or to a salesperson

Questions people ask first

All questions

Where are you based?

In Lagos, working with businesses across the mainland and the island. Happy to meet in person where it helps, or to run the whole project remotely.

Can we meet in person?

Yes, where it is useful. A lot of projects run entirely over WhatsApp and email because that is faster for everyone, but a meeting is not a problem.

Will I be speaking to the person building the site?

Yes. There is no account manager in between, which is the main thing worth checking about anyone you find through a local search.

How quickly do you reply?

The same working day, within working hours. WhatsApp is usually the fastest way through.

Tell me what you need.

Four questions, and you pick how I come back to you. If what you need is not something I should be doing, I will tell you that instead of quoting for it.

  • A reply the same working day
  • Prices are published, so nothing is quoted higher because of who asked
  • No contract and nothing to pay to get a quote
  • What gets built is yours to own and take anywhere
