The problem

A UAE beauty retailer with the supplier relationships, the range, and a clear read on their market, but no store at all. No catalogue online, no payment infrastructure, and no way to buy, in one of the most competitive retail markets in the Middle East.

What I built

The catalogue came before the design. I mapped every product and settled the category structure first, because with a range this broad the navigation decides whether someone finds what they came for. It launched on WooCommerce as seven parent categories with more than thirty subcategories, each one shoppable as a destination in its own right.

The result

Launched with over 80 products published across all categories, a 10 percent welcome discount live from day one, and free delivery above 100 AED to lift average order value.

The client

Beautylink Global is a UAE online beauty retailer with a curated range of premium beauty and personal care products. The catalogue spans seven categories, skin care, hair care, make up, fragrance, nail care, personal care and baby care, with dozens of subcategories under them.

The positioning is authenticity, quality and accessibility: honest products, reliable service, free delivery above 100 AED and a 10 percent welcome discount. The business was built to turn browsers into buyers and buyers into repeat customers.

The problem

  1. 01

    No store at all

The business was starting from zero. No website, no catalogue online, no payment infrastructure, and no way for a UAE customer to browse or buy. Everything had to be built.

  2. 02

A very broad catalogue needing real architecture

Seven parent categories, dozens of subcategories and hundreds of products is not a small store. Without a considered hierarchy customers get lost, the store feels overwhelming rather than inviting, and search engines see the same mess the shopper does.

  3. 03

A market that wants trust signals immediately

UAE beauty shoppers are sophisticated and have global alternatives one click away. A new brand has to communicate credibility at once, through the design, the promotions and the reliability of the checkout.

  4. 04

    Breadth against discoverability

With hundreds of products, the best sellers had to surface immediately and the deals had to be impossible to miss. That takes deliberate conversion design, not a product listing page.

What I did

  1. 01

    Discovery and store architecture

I mapped the full catalogue and designed the category and subcategory structure before touching the design, which was the most consequential decision in the project. For a store this broad, navigation decides whether customers find what they came for. Seven parent categories, each with targeted subcategories, and every subcategory built to work as a destination in its own right, which matters for search as much as for shopping.

  2. 02

    Platform and theme

WordPress with WooCommerce, the right fit for a large catalogue the client manages themselves: hundreds of products, promotions, shipping rules and payments with no ongoing developer dependency. The theme was customised to the brand, clean and modern, warm tones and generous product imagery that puts the products first.

  3. 03

    Design and visual direction

Premium without being unapproachable. UAE beauty shoppers expect polish, and the breadth of the catalogue had to end up feeling curated rather than cluttered.

  4. 04

    WooCommerce configuration

A catalogue across 7 parent categories and 30 plus subcategories, a discount engine showing percentage-off badges on product cards, the NEW10 welcome coupon, free delivery above 100 AED, customer accounts with order history and wishlists, AED pricing, card payments UAE shoppers trust, and newsletter capture for retention.

  5. 05

    Conversion optimisation

The welcome coupon captures new visitors on arrival. The hot deals section creates urgency. The delivery threshold encourages one more item. The best sellers row reduces decision fatigue by showing what other buyers already trust. They were built to work as a system rather than as separate features.

  6. 06

    Mobile optimisation

A large share of UAE online shopping happens on a phone, so navigation, browsing and checkout were built and tested for touch and small screens. No revenue lost to a bad mobile experience.

Key design decisions

  • A clean hero with one brand promise and a direct route to the most popular category
  • Best sellers and popular picks on the homepage, surfacing the highest converting products to first-time visitors
  • A category grid giving each department equal weight, so people can navigate by need
  • Sale sections with the percentage saving shown on the product card
  • The welcome offer as an arrival pop-up, to convert first-time visitors
  • The free delivery threshold in the header, to encourage basket building
  • Wishlist and compare, so customers can save products across sessions

What the client said

We came to Nnamdi with a big catalogue and needed a store that could handle it properly. Everything was organised clearly, the design looks beautiful, and WooCommerce was set up so we could manage it all ourselves after launch. The store looks exactly like what we imagined and our customers find it easy to use.

Questions about work like this

All questions

How large a catalogue can you handle?

That store launched with seven parent categories, more than thirty subcategories and over eighty products, built to keep growing. The work is in the architecture rather than the product count.

How long does an online store take?

Four weeks from start to launch for that one. A smaller catalogue is quicker, and the real variable is how ready your product data and photography are.

Can I run my own promotions afterwards?

Yes. Coupons, percentage-off badges and free delivery thresholds are all set up to be changed from the admin without a developer.

Do you build for markets outside Nigeria?

Yes. That store was built for the UAE, priced in dirhams, with the payment methods local shoppers trust.

My pricing starts at $ 1,500. See what each tier includes.
