The problem

An enterprise IT firm selling to serious buyers on a site that undermined them. It loaded slowly, it read poorly on a phone, and it gave no clear route from interest to a conversation.

What I built

A full audit of the existing site, interviews with the leadership team, and a competitor review across enterprise IT firms in Africa and beyond. The rebuild was aimed at what an enterprise buyer needs to feel before picking up the phone: proof, clarity, and speed.

The result

Page load improved by 68 percent. Lighthouse went from 41 to 94 and mobile performance from 37 to 91. Bounce rate fell 34 percent in the first sixty days, consultation form submissions rose 2.4x, and organic impressions rose 110 percent.

The client

Bluechip Technologies is one of Africa's largest enterprise IT firms: 18 years of work across 9 countries, over 400 professionals, offices from Lagos to Nairobi to Kinshasa, and certifications from Dell, SAP, Microsoft, HPE and Oracle. The client list includes MTN, Dangote, Access Bank, NNPC, Safaricom, Vodafone and the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Their website reflected none of it.

The problem

  1. 01

It was not built for performance

The site ran on an outdated WordPress and Elementor stack, a drag and drop builder common among small businesses. For a company serving tier one banks, telcos and government institutions, the limits of that stack were a liability. Load times were slow, the site suffered repeated downtime, Core Web Vitals were poor, and the codebase carried plugin overhead it had no use for.

  2. 02

The visual identity did not match the market position

The design felt generic. Bluechip competes for multi-million dollar contracts against global IT firms, so the website needed the same authority as their pitch decks and boardroom presentations. It did not have it.

  3. 03

    The service architecture confused people

Six service lines and five proprietary software products across multiple industries, all buried inside cluttered navigation and templated layouts. Visitors could not quickly work out what Bluechip did, or which solution applied to them.

What I did

  1. 01

    Discovery and architecture

A full audit of the existing site, interviews with the leadership team, and a competitor analysis across enterprise IT firms in Africa and globally. The question was not what the site showed, but what an enterprise buyer needs to feel before picking up the phone.

  2. 02

    Information architecture

I rebuilt the sitemap from scratch with a clear hierarchy between services, products and industries, and added an industry-first navigation layer so a buyer from banking could reach their own use case without first learning Bluechip's internal service taxonomy.

  3. 03

    Design

A design system built on the existing brand colours and elevated with an editorial grid, generous whitespace and a typographic hierarchy that carries authority without clutter. Every section was designed to serve one conversion goal, from first impression to booked consultation.

  4. 04

    Development

Rebuilt on an updated WordPress stack for fast load times, strong search performance and a codebase that can be maintained rather than worked around.

  5. 05

    Performance

Images optimised and served from a CDN, fonts subset and self hosted, Core Web Vitals tuned to green across the board. A faster site on desktop and on mobile, which feeds straight back into organic search.

  6. 06

    On-page SEO foundation

Clean semantic HTML, structured data, optimised meta tags, canonical URLs and an XML sitemap from day one, so the content team had something to build authority on.

Key design decisions

  • A data-led hero with the proof up front: 18 years, 9 countries, 50+ clients, 400+ professionals
  • An industry selector on the homepage, routing buyers straight to the relevant solution
  • Product pages with clear capability breakdowns, use cases and partner credentials
  • Partner and certification badges shown prominently, because at this level they are the credibility
  • A news and insights section, positioning the firm as a thought leader rather than a vendor

What the client said

Nnamdi understood immediately that our website needed to speak to CIOs and CTOs at major African enterprises, not just look nice. The new site has completely changed how we show up online. We are getting more and better enquiries, and our team can manage the content without any technical help. It was exactly what we needed.

Questions about work like this

All questions

How long does a redesign on this scale take?

Longer than a standard build, because of the audit, the stakeholder interviews and the work on product architecture before any design started. A straightforward business site is faster. Either way the number is agreed after the brief, not guessed before it.

Can you rebuild a site without losing our rankings?

Yes, and it is the part most rebuilds get wrong. Every URL is mapped and redirected one to one, metadata and structured data carry across, and the site is checked in Search Console before and after launch rather than left to settle on its own.

Do you work alongside an in-house marketing team?

Often. On a build this size the site has to be something your own team can run, so the handover includes a walkthrough and a content structure they can keep adding to without me.

My pricing starts at $ 1,500. See what each tier includes.
